[Ignis Scientia was a young father, just going back to working at the office after birth of his daughter. His wife had passed in childbirth, and he had been working from home until now.
He walks up.to.the daycare, his daughter, Nadia, holding his hand, her brown hair in perfect braids, her green eyes looking ahead.
Ignis walks them to the door to the teacher waiting there. ]
Hello, I'm Ignis Scientia. This is my daughter's first day.
[Noctis had finally managed to get a transfer to a new daycare that had opened near his place. It was more convenient, really, he didn't have to travel to the other part of the city.
New environment, new kids. No, literally new kids. A guy arrives with his daughter for her first day at the daycare and Noct can't help but feel a little bit nervous. He doesn't show it though- it usually makes kids nervous in return.
So, instead, he smiles as they approach, form in his hands for the father to sign.]
Hey there. I'm Noctis. We've been expecting you. Come on in, I'll show you around.
[The daycare is decently sized and Noctis leads them inside. There's a work table in the corner in the huge playroom, with two chairs across of it. The room already has a few kids in and it's filled to the brim with toys of all kinds, a long, long couch in all colors along the wall and huge pillows strewn all around.]
[It is a daycare, it's supposed to be colorful. There are shelves on one side with books, of course, arranged to age. There's a smaller shelf next to it with papers and boxes of crayons. There are children already drawing frantically, comparing dragons and knights with one another.
And then "knights" start hunting "dragons" and that's kids making a few circles around Noct before running off and pouncing on the couch.]
Uhh- [damn it, he got completely distracted-] ah- yes, we did. You have nothing to worry about, we have everything planned. [He takes them to the office table and picks up a pen-] Just your signature on those forms and we're all set.
Of course not. But children do have excess energy so making them sit in one place when all they want to do is run is counterproductive. You'll end up having one very energetic kid at the bedtime otherwise.
We do, however, keep an eye on them all the time. There has never been an incident.
[He then turns to the girl, smiling and offering her his hand-] How about we let your dad go work and we go find something to play with?
[Noct doesn't know how to explain that the kids are not roughhousing, just... running around. But he then gets distracted with what Nadia says and he has to hold back a frown.
Strict dad, huh?
He gives Ignis and nod and a slight bow of the head. Then leads the girl slowly towards the center of the room, calling for the attention of the other kids to introduce her. One of the girls are instantly by her side- has huge sunflower in her hair and tons of freckles, eager to show her the sunflower fairy she drew.]
[Noctis isn't sure what's going on, but he's happy to see the little girl relax and smile. He lets them take a seat at the drawing table while goes to round up the "knights" and "dragons".
It's going to be a little bit busy because everyone always gets excited around new people. But it's no less fun.]
[Noctis is glad to see Nadia fit in easily- sometimes kids have difficulties with it, regardless of how friendly other kids are.
He's crouching next to her and the other girl that invited her over to draw when she asks that, and Noctis smiles, coloring one of the trees on "his picture".]
No, I am not yet. Do you have a brother or sister?
